STATEMENT :
Inspired by our British beaches and landscape I produce several instantly recognisable collections of jewellery in silver, gold, and bronze. Semi-precious and precious stones, vermeil and oxidisation provide striking contrasts. The jewellery has a purity of form that can be read across cultural boarders in what Yung calls “ the collective unconscious “. These pebble like pieces are primitive, organic and temptingly tactile. I pay great attention to a variety of surface finishes that interpret the sea tumbled surfaces of pebbles, shells fossils and seaglass.
